The Deutsches Historisches Museum, Berlin, is hosting ‘Focus Königgrätz,’ a special exhibition within the permanent exhibition at the Museum, through December 2016.Placing 'The Battle of Königgrätz on 3 July 1866' by Georg Bleibtreu at the center of the display, the exhibition commemorates a historic day for Germany, marking the supremacy of Prussia over Austria in the battle for influence over Germany. The battle is remembered as one of the bloodiest slaughters in German history.The display carries battle awards, letters from the battlefield as well as uniforms and helmets worn by the combatants.
